Welcome to our blog!

I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and our new blog!

I am the Artist Director and CEO of Innovation Arts Connection. With 16 years of teaching experience I have developed strong classroom management skills, creative lesson plans and a true passion for education. I specialize in early childhood dance education but have experience teaching all ages of tap, ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, tumble, fitness and theatre. I graduated summa cum laude from Illinois State University with a B.S. in Theatre Education & Acting. My dance and theatre training began at a young age and over the past years she has studied from notable educators as Lisa Conry, Pamela Walden, Greg Merriman, Jack McLaughlin-Gray and Connie de Veer. I am a certified YPAD studio owner, DiscoverDance & Rhythm Works Educator, a graduate of the Dance Boss University Lesson Plan Accelerator program, an AFAA Group Fitness instructor specializing in Dance Fitness, Barre Fitness and Strength Training, a DSO Member, and a founding member of Warrenville Woman in Business. My choreography has been seen in Chicagoland and central IL high schools and universities and was highlighted in the 2018 IHSTF. In 2018 I founded IAC, a traveling studio that works in partnership with Chicagoland park districts. Above all, I believe that arts education is a powerful tool to help people develop creative problem-solving skills, empathy and confidence. It is my goal to make it fun, safe and accessible to all.

Dance has played a large role in shaping the person I have become. I gained confidence while learning the importance of responsibility and hard work. Teaching allows me to share my passion and help young people discover their potential.

I would like to use this blog as a way to educate guardians, child care providers, fellow educators and park district supervisors about movement, dance and child development. I hope to provide fun, safe, affordable and educational tips and tricks.

We also hope to host some guest bloggers to help educate on topics in dance history, self-care, fitness, music theory, and much more.

I would love to hear from you too! What would you like to learn?
